Connect Communications partnered with Avaya to present the latest Unified Communications solutions at the Law Society, with standing room only for the audience of lawyers.
Avaya’s own internal lawyers presented a “Day in the Life” of a legal counsel, explaining the collaboration and fixed mobile convergence tools they use on a daily basis.
Connect demonstrated Avaya’s “Flare Experience”, the latest cool technology running on iPads and the new Android-based Avaya Desktop Video Device, highlighting the need for working collaboration within a practice, and presented ACE which integrates business software with communications. The example shown was a time capture and billing application, integrated with telephony and collaboration.
The one-X fixed mobile convergence solution generated the most interest from the floor.
Unexpectedly, the day coincided with the BlackBerry outage issues and there was keen interest in Avaya’s integration for BlackBerry devices, which avoids dependency on the RIM servers.
Martin Cross, Director of Connect Communications, commented:
“We were surprised to learn that few firms have the ability to deliver voicemails directly into their email system and receive them via Outlook on the PC or directly through a BlackBerry smart phone. Both of these are relatively simple solutions to achieve, which we have a long history of delivering.”
